Dr. Anusha Ashokan
Anusha Ashokan completed her PhD in 2014 from Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, under the guidance of Prof Manzoor K. She holds an MTech Degree in Nanomedical Sciences from Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham University and a BTech Degree in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from Kerala University. Her PhD work focused on the (i) development of multimodal contrast agents based on calcium phosphate nanoparticles for near-infrared, magnetic resonance and nuclear imaging (ii) development of image guided therapeutics especially for MRI guided radiofrequency ablation of liver tumor (iii) development of near-infrared dye loaded nanoparticles for optical image assisted surgical resection of tumors. Currently she is working on development of nanoparticle based cancer immunotherapeutics that deals with the activation of immune cells using nanoparticles. Her specific focus is on the activation of a particular subset of T cells called γδT cells using lymph node targeting nanoparticles.
