Prof. Manzoor Koyakutty - Principal Investigator
Manzoor Koyakutty is a Professor at the Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Cochin, India, specializes in the area of Cancer nanomedicine & immunotherapeutics. He joined the center in June 2007, after 09 years of service as staff-scientist at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Government of India. His group at Amrita focus on understanding cancer as a highly complex dynamic system driven by both malignant as well as normal cells and tries to engineer nano/molecular/cellular systems to counter this aberrant 'self'. Nanomedicines for cancer stem cells, brain implantable nanomedicines, image guided radio-wave, nuclear and photodynamic therapy, cancer immunotherapy and Raman spectral imaging of cancer are some of the current topics of interest. He published 56 peer reviewed research papers and filed 16 PCT patents in cancer-nanomedicine (02 USA, 01 Japan, 01 China and 1 Europe patents issued).
