Giridharan L. Malarvizhi, MSc, M.Tech
Giridharan Loghanathan Malarvizhi joined in ACNSMM in 2008 as an M.Tech student in Nanomedical sciences at Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular medicine and is currently working as a senior research fellow (CSIR) and a Ph.D. student. The cancer nanomedicine formulation (nanophotomedicine) he has developed as a part of his M.Tech. thesis is presently being translated and scaled-up to meet clinical requirements for oncology applications. Further, the dual drug loaded core-shell Nanoparticle gel formulation he has developed against liver cancer as a part of his Ph.D. thesis work has recently won United States patent granted, which is also being investigated for clinical translation. Holding a masters degree in Bioinformatics (M.Sc.), and another masters in Nanomedical sciences (M.Tech.), and driven by an intense interest in pharmaceutical chemistry, Mr. Giridharan amalgamates in silico molecular docking approaches with novel nano wet chemical processing routes to computationally design and develop cancer nanomedicines. He holds publications in international journals including Nanomedicine: NBM and ACS Molecular pharmaceutics, to name a few, and holds 3 patents (1 US patent granted, 2 filed), and a book chapter related to nanomedicine to his credit.
